1986 Journalism

Greg Myford

was named director of athletics for the University of Alaska Anchorage. Myford takes his 30-plus years in professional and collegiate sports to the UAA Seawolves, where he will oversee the 13-sport program. His career included serving as Penn State’s associate athletic director for business relations and communications from 2004-2013, as well as executive roles with the Detroit Pistons, Tampa Bay Lightning and IMG College. Myford begins his duties July 31.

1986 Journalism

Rob Boulware

was inducted into the Kiski Athletic Hall of Fame. At the Kiski School, Boulware was a member of the varsity cross country and track and field teams for four years. He holds the school long-jump record (22' 6-5") and his times still ranks sixth-fastest in the 300-meter hurdles and 10th-fastest in the 110-meter hurdles. Boulware was a varsity track athlete at Penn State, too. He's presently manager of stakeholder relations for Seneca Resources Corp.

Kevin Tobias

now works at Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) in The Office of Transformational Technology. Work includes research, and development for Autonomous Vehicles, Electric Vehicles, and Drones.

1986 Film Production

Andrew Kevin Walker

wrote a film, "The Killer," directed by David Fincher, that is in competition at this year's Venice Film Festival and will be released in select theaters in October 2023. It will begin airing on Netflix on Nov. 10.

was named executive director of the Western New York Affiliate of Susan G. Komen. Kahn previously worked in marketing and comunications at the MASH Care Network and worked for 23 years at The Buffalo News.

Mary Meder

was honored as one of four 2014 recipients of the Movers & Shakers Pinnacle Award of Excellence, presented by the Philly Ad Club. She is the president of Hamelin Media, the largest buyer of media in Pennsylvania. While Harmelin billings have doubled to $500 million since 2002, Meder serves on several boards, including Special Olympics Pennsylvania, and has been repeatedly honored for her community involvement.

Gary Ezard

accepted a job offer as a staff video editor with WETA-TV for "PBS NewsHour" and "NewsHour Weekend."

He had been working in freelance roles for more than nine years.

"I feel very fortunate to have freelanced for 'NewsHour' periodically over the last couple of years. Thanks to the people there who have made me feel welcome from the first day.

"Thanks to my friend and former news director Dave Hopkins for taking a chance on me to begin my career. He and the whole crew at WTAJ-TV gave me a valuable foundation for the news business. Returning to my news roots has me grateful for the opportunity, and excited to get started."

Marcia McGrath Cater

wrote her first book, “Heartbeat from Heaven,” about her teenage son’s miraculous recovery after having no heartbeat for 30 minutes when he suffered a cardiac arrest. It's available on Amazon in paperback and as an ebook.
