Lives in: West Hartford, Connecticut

Job: Deputy editor, ESPN

Big break: Fellow Penn Stater JB Morris saw something in me and helped me land an internship at ESPN in 2001. I’ve never left!

Now reading: The Four Agreements

My TV/viewing guilty pleasure: We are in a remarkable era of TV storytelling, so I am consuming so much TV, so fast, that there should be some kind of breathalyzer on my TV remote to make sure I am under the legal limit. A few recent favorites: "Station 11," "Yellowjackets," "Ozark."

Three things always in my fridge: Small, medium and large bottles of A1

Favorite kind of cookie: Panera has iced cookies right now that are so good that I think maybe they should be illegal.

Best advice I ever received: Don’t live in the wreckage of your future.

Pet peeve: If aliens ever arrive and we somehow defeat them, I think we should imprison them at DMVs and just keep calling them to the window to let them know there is actually this other different form they need to fill out, that it will cost another $67.50, that they need nine more forms of identification, and that they can get back in line and try again later that day.

Favorite vacation destination: Disney, with the family. It’s terrible and fantastic at the same time.

Fondest Penn State memory: I got invited to a party at Penn State once because two friends wanted me to meet someone named Lori. We met, and I really liked her. But there was another guy named Ryan at the party that she seemed more interested in. She eventually agreed to go on a date with me … and I have been the No. 1 Ryan at my house for the past 24 years.
